Job seekers and Michigan employers can connect with each other through a State-sponsored virtual career fair on Wednesday, February 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

LANSING, Mich. – Job seekers and Michigan employers can connect with each other through a State-sponsored virtual career fair on Wednesday, February 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. MiVirtualCareerFairs, a tool of Pure Michigan Talent Connect, bring together Michigan employers and talent from across the state and the globe in a online, virtual environment.

“There are more than 65,000 jobs currently available in various industries on the Pure Michigan Talent Connect website. MiVirtualCareerFairs are another great tool connecting Michigan employers to qualified talent and providing resources for job seekers,” said Joe Quick, Manager of Talent Programs, Michigan Economic Development Corporation. “More than 1,600 job seekers participated in the November 2013 MiVirtualCareerFair, and we are excited to announce that we have four events scheduled in 2014.”

With 33 employers exhibiting during the February 26 event, this MiVirtualCareerFair will be the largest to date. Additional virtual career fairs are scheduled for May 21, August 27 and November 12. Since the first MiVirtualCareerFair event in February 2012, more than 105 unique employers and more than 12,500 job seekers have been connected through the state sponsored events.

At MiVirtualCareerFairs, each exhibiting employer has a customizable booth that includes links to job postings, company profiles, employee benefits, and employer contact information. During the virtual events, job seekers can communicate one-on-one with company representatives, submit their resume and explore dozens of Michigan job openings. All job openings posted during the events are accessible to participants for 30 days after event completion. Post-event, employers receive in-depth analytics including candidate resumes, applications, chat transcripts, and booth visit data.
