Growth Office Fall Field Trip Programming

Michigan Growth Office Career Job Fairs to Support Talent Retention in Michigan

Retaining Michigan’s talented graduates and growing our workforce requires exposing students to great opportunities to live, work, and play in Michigan upon graduation. The Michigan Growth Office is seeking support to manage all duties to successfully plan and execute a series of four “Michigan-oriented” events across the state, designed to connect college-aged Michiganders with local and state-level Michigan employers from diverse sectors, while also celebrating Michigan culture and great places to live. The selected entity will manage all ideation, planning, partner outreach and coordination, and logistics for each event, working in partnership with the Michigan Growth Office for contract management and oversight. As a part of the events series, the entity will engage with relevant partners including employers, higher education and trades institutions, businesses, and other regional talent partners to familiarize young people with pathways to live, work, and play in Michigan.

Michigan Growth Office Event Planning for Creative Industries Activation

The selected entity will handle all duties associated with hosting a large event designed to engage practitioners in Michigan’s creative industries and further develop/grow the ecosystem of creative class partners. The selected entity will oversee the ideation, planning, coordination and logistics leading up to and throughout the day of the event, with the goal of convening local creatives and supportive organizations / industry partners from diverse creative fields across the state. As part of the event, the Michigan Growth Office will host a competition to award grant funding proposals from Michigan's creative industries, with the goal of helping to scale or otherwise develop industry offerings in support of driving Michigan’s growth. Grants to proposals will constitute 45%+ of the total award amount as part of this RFQ. The selected entity will facilitate the competition and support the distribution of funding to winning creatives proposals.

Michigan Growth Office Mapping Michigan’s Creative Ecosystem Research Support

Michigan’s innovation ecosystem and economic growth is supported by creative industries in our state and the capacity of the talent in those industries to act as both place-makers and drivers of economic growth. The selected entity will develop and implement a process to conduct research regarding Michigan’s creative ecosystem and put together a comprehensive report with findings and recommendations for Michigan’s growth. This entity will asset map the creative ecosystem in Michigan, research and compile information about what types of creative economies currently exist (e.g. advertising/marketing, visual arts, design, etc.) and identify any existing gaps in those ecosystems. The Michigan Growth Office will provide any relevant research/information. In order for this research project to be successful, the entity must engage and include practitioners and researchers around the state who are already asset mapping around one of Michigan’s creative industries.

Michigan Growth Office PitchMI and Student Entrepreneurship Grant Competition Support And Event Logistics

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation is planning to host a statewide pitch competition for the second year—PitchMI—in addition to regional events across the state that will act as qualifying rounds for the final round of this years’ PitchMI competition. Startups will attend and compete alongside members of the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem and interested community members in regions across the state.

Michigan Growth Office Program Administration for Make MI Home Statewide Welcome Program

Entity will support the administrative operations of the program, including facilitating the onboarding of new program participants and connecting those recent graduates and new Michiganders to curated opportunities and resources, including facilitating the onboarding of new program participants.

Michigan Innovate Capital Fund Program

The Michigan Innovate Capital Fund (MICF) Program will award incentives to multiple non-profit organizations that operate fund programs to invest in pre-seed and start-up stage competitive edge technologies that require capital in the earliest stages of the commercialization process.

The Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF), in partnership with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), is announcing a new funding opportunity under the Michigan Innovation Fund (MIF).

Outdoor Recreation Community Economic Prosperity and Resilience Toolkit

The purpose of this project is to identify and engage a consultant to research and develop a best practices and case study toolkit for communities to help them capture more Outdoor Recreation Industry economic opportunities and investment, including capital and base jobs, and identify risk and resiliency strategies to improve long-term prosperity. The selected consultant will engage industry leaders and key stakeholders through an Outdoor Recreation Advisory Council, review existing information and research, identify additional resources and develop a toolkit with case studies and recommended best practices to improve intentionality and community focus on realizing economic growth and improving resiliency in the outdoor recreation sector.
