African American Recreational Tourism and the Negro Motorist Green Book in Michigan Historic Resource Survey and Multiple Property Documentation Form

The MSF, through the Michigan State Historic Preservation Office (the “SHPO”) is seeking a contractor (the “Contractor”) to research and prepare a Statewide Historic Context Statement (the “Historic Context Statement”) and Multiple Property Documentation Form (the “MPDF”) for African American Recreational Tourism, conduct an intensive-level historic resource survey (the “Survey”) of extant sites listed in the Negro Motorist Green Book (the “Green Book”) as identified in the SHPO’s Green Book site list (included in this RFP), and complete one (1) National Register of Historic Places (the “National Register”) nomination (the “Nomination,” and, together with the Historic Context Statement, MPDF, and the Survey, the “Project”) for one (1) Green Book site, to be determined during the course of the Project. The Project is funded through a 2023 National Park Service (the “NPS”) African American Civil Rights grant.

Growth Office Project Management - Programs & Pilots

Project manager will support program management and research for the Michigan Growth Office. This role will support coordination and execution of multiple pilots and projects related to the implementation of the Growing Michigan Together Council’s recommendations, and the state-wide population growth effort. This position performs a wide range of professional research and analysis assignments in a full-functioning capacity.

Growth Office Project Management - Public Engagement

Project Manager will service the Michigan Growth Office. This position is responsible for supporting public engagements and other special projects related to the implementation of the Growing Michigan Together Council’s recommendations and the state-wide population growth effort.

Growth Office Public Relations and Communications Support

Entity will develop and implement a strategic communications plan including earned media for the Michigan Growth Office to attract/retain talent, tell Michigan's story and promote Michigan as a great place to call home. This entity must have expert knowledge and solid relationships with local and hyper local media across the State of Michigan. They must develop and execute an earned media strategy including specific story angles and PR moments. Identify and provide recommendations on ways to manage/publicize other newsworthy moments including the Mackinac Policy Conference, SXSW or other milestones that could include the launch/creation or continuation of our own programs and pilots.

Growth Office Social Media Content Creator

The Michigan Growth Office is looking for a social media content creator that can ideate and create a cadence of interesting and viral-worthy social media content for Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, X and YouTube. This entity must also be able to develop a social media strategy complete with content mix and a related content calendar.

Michigan Innovate Capital Fund Program

The Michigan Innovate Capital Fund (MICF) Program will award incentives to multiple non-profit organizations that operate fund programs to invest in pre-seed and start-up stage competitive edge technologies that require capital in the earliest stages of the commercialization process.

Strategic Plan for the Travel Industry in Michigan

MEDC in collaboration with the Michigan Travel Commission and Travel Michigan is seeking proposals from a qualified strategic planning agency/consultant that specializes in travel and tourism at the state level. The plan will focus on guiding the growth, sustainability, and competitiveness of Michigan’s travel and tourism sector over the next three years. The final deliverable will be a robust, actionable, and research-based strategic plan that provides a clear direction for Michigan’s travel industry, its stakeholders, and its partners.

Student Led Faculty Guided Technical Assistance for RRCs

MEDC's Place Programs and Services team is seeking an RFQ for Student-Led, Faculty-Guided technical assistance support for communities engaged in MEDC's Redevelopment Ready Communities initiative.
