We hope you will find these profiles to be engaging and inspiring. And, please. Keep coming back to learn how these stories offer insight in running a thriving small business.

The stresses of taking care of sick loved ones can be immeasurable. With doctors’ visits, medications, and proper at-home care, it can be hard to stay on top of everything. One Michigan start-up is trying to make these difficult times a little easier.

Health Numeric, a cloud-based system, helps provide at-home health monitoring services and devices that make it easier for family members to care for their loved ones. This system makes it easier to connect patients and family members with the medical community during transitions from hospital to at home care.

Nevin Brittain, founder and CEO, created 5 goals for Health Numeric: make it easier to transition from hospital to home care, implement a home care action plan, engage and empower patients, keep caregivers in the loop, and improve outcomes and quality of care.

“Michigan is a great place to start a business. There have been organizations that have helped us all along the way, from the Technology Innovation Center, the LEAP program, and the State of Michigan. We’ve had support, direction and the clarity we needed to grow our business,” said Brittain.

Watch to learn more about Health Numeric and why you should start your business in Michigan.
