CURRENT FOCUS

Tom Lutz is the President of the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights (MRCC), one of the largest skilled trades unions in Michigan, representing more than 14,000 carpenters, millwrights, and floorlayers throughout the state. Since joining the MRCC twenty years ago, Tom has worked as a business agent, apprenticeship instructor, and Marketing Director. In these roles, he has worked to create and implement programs to recruit the next generation of skilled workers and address the ongoing needs of signatory contractors in the construction industry.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Tom serves the membership of the MRCC and our contractor partners in several other capacities, namely as a trustee for the Detroit Carpenters Pension Fund and the Statewide Carpenters and Millwrights Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee. He has been appointed to several Michigan Works Workforce Development Boards and Construction Labor Advisory Boards.
