Media representatives are invited to attend the 2014 Governor’s Economic Summit taking place Monday, March 17 and Tuesday, March 18 at DeVos Place Convention Center in Grand Rapids.

LANSING, Mich. – Media representatives are invited to attend the 2014 Governor’s Economic Summit taking place Monday, March 17 and Tuesday, March 18 at DeVos Place Convention Center in Grand Rapids.

A continuation of the 2013 Governor’s Economic Summit which addressed the growing talent needs of Michigan’s employers, the 2014 event will bring together business, education and local government leaders to look at solutions that have emerged since last year’s summit and consider how to turn them into common practices across Michigan.

Gov. Rick Snyder will provide remarks on Tuesday. Michigan Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Michael A. Finney will provide opening remarks on Monday. Other speakers will include:

  • Doug DeVos, president, Amway;
  • George A. Erickcek, senior regional analyst, Upjohn Institute;
  • Fred Keller, chairman and CEO, Cascade Engineering;
  • Jeff DeGraff, Ph.D., University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
