MEDIA ADVISORY: MEDC to announce new career liaison partnership with community colleges

Media representatives are invited to attend a press conference announcing a new program offered by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and Michigan community colleges on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 3:30 p.m. at Henry Ford Community College.

LANSING, Mich. – Media representatives are invited to attend a press conference announcing a new program offered by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and Michigan community colleges on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 3:30 p.m. at Henry Ford Community College. 

Created as a response to feedback received at the Governor’s Economic and Education Summits held earlier this year, the program is intended to address the critical talent gap facing Michigan employers by promoting training opportunities to high school students.

Henry Ford Community College President Stan Jensen, Ph.D., will provide opening remarks. Other speakers will include:

  • Michael A. Finney, president and CEO, Michigan Economic Development Corporation;
  • Gregory E. Pitoniak, chief executive officer, Southeast Michigan Community Alliance;
  • Dana L. Davis, staffing services manager, Corporate Human Resources, Phillips Service Industries, Inc.
  • Mohamed Sayegh, Henry Ford Community College student employed at Ford Motor Company.
