Born and raised in Clare, Lisa Benic and her sister saw the movie theater venue of their childhood may not recover after the pandemic and surge of online streaming. They decided to do something about it and after talking with the owner, the sisters moved forward to save this historic piece of downtown Clare.

How Mid-Michigan Compares
Since 2018 there have been 505 new jobs created in the mobility industry.
There are 17 times more container and plastic manufacturing jobs in Mid-Michigan than the rest of the country.
There has been an increase of over 1,200 new jobs in crop production in the Mid-Michigan region since 2018.
There has been 183 new jobs in material sciences added to the region since 2018.

From Michigan legacy companies like Dow and Hemlock Semiconductor to life sciences startups, the Mid-Michigan region is the home for businesses of all sizes and industries, providing plenty of opportunities for talent. A fixture of the Mount Pleasant community since 1892, Central Michigan University is among the state’s eight research universities and boasts 200 academic programs, ranging from undergraduate and graduate to doctoral levels.

Having the ability to work with local, state and federal partners allows me the opportunity to form meaningful partnerships while bringing resources back to our community. It also allows me the ability to educate others and help them better understand who we are as a nation, focusing on our rich culture and traditions.
