The DeVos Art Museum

Marquette Marquette

The K-12 education program at The DeVos Art Museum aims to create connections between the University community and students and teachers in the Marquette area through educational outreach. The museum strives to encourage exploration and understanding of contemporary art, culture and society through programs designed to assist with the learning process and existing curricula. Led by a dedicated team of volunteer docents, one temporary exhibition or one permanent collection exhibition per school year is highlighted. Using the themes in the selected exhibition, the docents develop and lead classes on tours through the exhibition and facilitate a related art activity. Exhibitions highlighted in the past have included a range of themes and activities from American paintings on loan from the Detroit Institute of Art to The Art of the Guitar.
