Grand Rapids Kent

The Art Museum provides three different themed tours of our permanent collection. The Learning to Look tour focuses on the artist's use of shape, line, color and technique. The Nature Revealed tour focuses on the artist's use of nature as inspiration for their work. Finally, the Picturing America tour is developed using the curriculum standards for social studies and reinforces concepts of the American west, geography, landmarks and the spirit of ingenuity.

A Detroit-based cultural arts organization, Heritage Works provides programs in cultural enrichment, performance and visual arts, health and wellness, and academic and professional skills development. The Kalamazoo Institute of Arts offers engaging and interactive tours of its excellent collection of American paintings and sculpture, works on paper, photography, Asian Art, Pre-Columbian, Oceanic and African objects as well as outstanding temporary exhibitions. Schools can choose docent-led tours, self-guided visits or tours with an accompanying art project.

Krasl Art Center’s Understanding Art program provides students with a unique museum experience with a docent-led 45 minute tour of the current exhibition accompanied by a multi-media presentation exploring the history or influence of the featured works of art, and a 45 minute studio art project inspired by the exhibition led by one of Krasl's art specialists.Group size: 10-60 students.

Lansing Art Gallery offers Tour/Workshops, which consist of a gallery tour and a hands-onproject relating to Gallery artwork. Workshops are taught by experienced artist/educatorswithin the Greater Lansing area. Tour/Workshops are scheduled weekdays, between 10:00a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
