Federal Program Analyst/Program Specialist

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is hiring for the following State of Michigan or Corporate position.

Brief Job Description:

Federal Program Analyst (State)

This position serves as a program analyst for the Federal Programs unit. The position is responsible for the management of a portfolio of federally funded grants including application approval, project set-up, project completion and grant closeout.  This position provides support and assistance to Federal Programs Managing Director and Federal Programs Manager related to project completion and compliance and is responsible for other assignments as determined by the Federal Programs Managing Director. 

Program Specialist (Corporate)

Monitors and coordinates the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) administrative processes for managing MEDC-specific programs. Interprets and applies State or Federal program guidelines; answers questions from communities, companies, consultants and developers; interprets plans and scenarios to determine the statutory effect on the project; compiles reports and applicable data; and prepares recommendations for approval by the Michigan Strategic Fund Board (MSF) or its designee as required.

This position is based at MEDC Headquarters in Lansing and may work a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 2 days of in-office work required.

Minimum Education Required:

 Possession of a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.

Minimum Experience Required:

Federal Program Analyst (State)

Departmental Analyst 9
No specific type or amount is required.

Departmental Analyst 10
One year of professional experience.

Departmental Analyst P11
Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.

 

Program Specialist (Corporate)

Two to four years of related experience and/or training in economic development, contract administration and/or government administration (preferably including previous experience with one or more of the MEDC's Community Development programs), program/project underwriting and knowledge of contracts and property law or experience administering similar community development grant programs, business development grant programs, loan programs or tax credit programs; experience with word processing, spreadsheet, database, and calendaring software; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
