CURRENT FOCUS

Michele leads the Economic Development Incentives and Services team which includes: the Business Development and Community Development Incentives teams, which make investments in Michigan businesses and communities; Technical Assistance programs including Redevelopment Ready Communities, Michigan Mainstreet and Redevelopment Services; and the State Historic Preservation Office and the Michigan Arts and Culture Council.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Michele joined the MEDC in 2019 and has more than twenty years of experience in the community and economic development industry. Her career includes ten years with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA), work with several Michigan non-profit and philanthropic organizations and most recently as the Executive Director of the Genesee County Land Bank Authority. She is active in a variety of local, state and federal boards and initiatives including service as a current member of the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis. Her experience includes a variety of roles related to real estate development and community vitality, including oversight of a variety of development incentives such as loans and tax credits, use of HOME and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, and administration of federal programs.

EDUCATION/PERSONAL

Michele holds a Master of Arts degree in Economics from Walsh College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy and Public Administration from Michigan State University.
