Michelle Grinnell is Senior Vice President of Market Growth and Business Attraction. She serves as a key liaison to stakeholder groups and state and local partners while leading a team responsible for promoting Michigan as a world-class destination for business through global business attraction efforts and market growth in key sectors including mobility & innovation, clean technology, semiconductors and defense & aerospace.


Michelle has 20 years of experience in the public sector, managing initiatives across state government as well as in the U.S. House of Representatives. Michelle has led a broad range of strategic initiatives for the MEDC, playing an instrumental role in the continued evolution of the Pure Michigan campaign, the creation and launch of the You Can in Michigan national talent attraction campaign, the expansion of statewide mobility initiatives and successful implementation of more than 20 COVID-19 relief programs led by the organization.


Michelle is a graduate of the University of Michigan and earned her master’s degree in media and public affairs from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
