CURRENT FOCUS

Michelle Grinnell is Senior Vice President at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation where she oversees MEDC’s communication strategy and execution of marketing initiatives, including the state’s Pure Michigan tourism campaign and Pure Opportunity business marketing campaign. Michelle also serves as a key liaison to stakeholder groups and state and local partners, while leading a team that promotes Michigan as a world-class destination for business and travel through media relations, marketing, digital media initiatives and special events.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Michelle has more than 15 years of experience in the public sector, managing communications initiatives across state government and in the U.S. House of Representatives. Michelle has also spent more than a decade helping to drive strategic communications initiatives for the MEDC, playing an instrumental role in the continued evolution of the Pure Michigan campaign, the expansion of statewide mobility initiatives and successful implementation of more than 20 COVID-19 relief programs led by the organization.

EDUCATION/PERSONAL

Michelle is a graduate of the University of Michigan and earned her master’s degree in media and public affairs from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
