CURRENT FOCUS

David leads the Community Development Programs & Execution team, encompassing Place, Programs & Services, Real Estate Investment & Underwriting and Federal Programs. This team works to structure transactions within various Community Development programs and CDBG supporting the growth of vibrant, diverse, and resilient communities across Michigan.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

David joined the MEDC in 2013 as Senior Corporate Counsel primarily serving as a transactional attorney for the Community Revitalization Program structuring and writing grants, loan agreements, participation agreements and equity transactions while undertaking subject matter expertise in the wide-ranging services of the Legal Department eventually serving as Associate General Counsel.

Prior to the MEDC, David served as Senior Corporate Counsel to a bank holding company that owned and operated nationwide network of community banks for 11 years, providing a wide range of corporate counsel, regulatory compliance, and transactional duties.

EDUCATION/PERSONAL

David holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature from Michigan State University. He is also a magna cum laude graduate of the Michigan State University College of Law.
