For Cindy Conn, it’s always been about the good vibes. As the owner of Vibology in Downtown Howell, Cindy offers an array of services and products to help nurture spiritual journeys for visitors, from crystals and jewelry to psychic readings and workshops. Vibology is among the many unique small businesses that set Downtown Howell apart as a community.

Celebrating 10 years as an Michigan Main Street community in 2025, Howell also has the distinction of being named the 2018 winner of the Great American Main Street award, presented by the National Main Street Center (NMSC). Selected by a national jury, the Great American Main Street award winners serve as exceptional models for comprehensive, preservation-based commercial district revitalization. The NMSC recognized Howell Main Street’s achievement in transforming the downtown district into a cultural destination.

With a new prime location at 110 W. Grand River Avenue in Downtown Howell, Vibology continues to bring the good vibes - and even more to experience.

“I’ve been into spirituality, psychic readings, and all things mystical since I was a teenager,” says Cindy. “My mom took me to my first psychic when I was about 15 or 16, and I was instantly hooked. That experience eventually led me to open Vibology here in Howell.”

Vibology is a spiritual boutique and apothecary offering everything from crystals, books, and herbs to workshops, classes, and psychic readings. “For someone who’s new to this kind of thing, I love helping them learn,” Cindy explains. “I can point them toward educational books or answer questions about crystals, angel numbers, or animal spirits. And if I don’t have the answer, I’ll help them find it.”

Cindy first opened Vibology in March 2020, just three days before the COVID shutdown. “Talk about timing,” she laughs. “It was terrifying, but I refused to give up. I adapted, kept pushing and the community showed up to support me.” That determination paid off; Vibology not only survived, but grew, expanding into a larger location and adding even more unique offerings for visitors to enjoy.

One of those additions is The Curio Cabinet – a moody, speakeasy-style tea and oddities lounge tucked in the back of the shop. “We host classes, Moon Circles, DIY bars, themed nights and mocktails in The Curio Cabinet,” Cindy says. “It’s become this cozy, magical space where people can connect, learn and just enjoy the vibe.”

As her business and offerings evolve and grow, Cindy hopes that her customers feel the same way she felt when she had her first experience with a psychic as a teenager.

“I love the people who come through our doors,” she adds. “Whether they’re regulars or just curious wanderers, I want them to walk in and feel something – like they’ve stepped into another world. More than anything, I want them to leave Vibology feeling lighter, more inspired and just a little more in tune with themselves. That’s what it’s all about, creating an experience they’ll remember.”
