Connecting two iconic brands, Coca-Cola and Pure Michigan, promotion encourages travel within Michigan

LANSING, Mich. – To encourage travel within Michigan and get shoppers excited about discovering places they may not have been before, The Coca-Cola Company and Pure Michigan have teamed up to give away six themed road trips. Sponsored by Great Lakes Coca-Cola Bottling Associates, Coca-Cola and Pure Michigan, the sweepstakes is open to legal residents of Michigan who are 21 years of age or older at the time of entry. The program began on June 2 and will run until September 15.

“Pure Michigan and road trips go hand in hand,” said Dave Lorenz, Vice President of Travel Michigan, part of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. “This road trip giveaway is the perfect way to highlight the diverse destinations Michigan has to offer and to encourage travelers to discover Michigan’s hidden gems.”

SpartanNash, Coca-Cola, Pure Michigan and Great Lakes Bottling came together on the multi-functional project to coordinate all aspects of this promotion from in-stores display to digital marketing. The program is intended to bring excitement by linking the Coca-Cola and Pure Michigan brands exclusively in SpartanNash retail stores.

“SpartanNash has been headquartered in Michigan for more than 100 years, and our Family Fare, D&W Fresh Market and VG’s stores proudly serve our local communities throughout the state,” SpartanNash Vice President, Marketing Brian Holt said. “We are excited to help our customers discover new corners of Michigan.”

There are two ways to enter the sweepstakes. Customers can purchase $20 of participating Coca-Cola beverages at their local Family Fare, D&W Fresh Market or VG’s Grocery, text MICHIGAN to 26739 and then upload their receipt to be entered to win one of six Michigan road trips. On the sweepstakes landing page, they can also find exclusive Michigan road trip itineraries that highlight community partnerships all over Michigan.

For customers to enter without making a purchase or a store visit, a free, mail-in method of entry is available. For more information on the official rules, visit on a mobile device.
