College graduates, student and media shown the best places to live, work and play in Detroit

LANSING–Detroit is rolling out the welcome mat to college students, graduates and the media on March 25, 2011, with a full-day tour of the best places to live, work and play in the Motor City. Hosted by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Live Work Detroit  will showcase the center of high-tech startups, cutting-edge medical researchers, fashion trendsetters, unrivaled restaurants, world-renown museums and affordable places to live. A career networking reception will conclude the day with Detroit employers, community leaders and young professionals. Roundtrip transportation will be provided from East Lansing, Ann Arbor and Detroit.

10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.    Midtown and Eastern Market (highlights: Willy's Overland Lofts, Good Girls Go to Paris Crepes, Tech Town) 
12:30 - 2:30 p.m.    Lunch and tour at the Detroit Institute of Arts
 2:30 - 4:30 p.m.    Downtown and Corktown (highlights: Guardian Building, Lofts at Merchant Row, Campus Martius, Slow's BBQ) 
 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.    Career Networking Reception at Compuware World Headquarters / Hard Rock Cafe (featuring a "Taste of Detroit")
