Accessibility

Access refers to the commitment for everyone to be included in all programs and activities.

The Council shall exercise appropriate leadership in ensuring and enhancing opportunities for full access to, and participation in arts and culture by conducting appropriate monitoring, assessment and provide technical assistance.

The Council shall conduct public meetings in spaces accessible to all and free of physical and communication barriers.  Physical barriers may include obstructions to parking, entrance, movement, seating, restrooms and water fountains. Communications assistance for individuals with visual or hearing impairments shall be provided upon 48-hours’ notice. Such assistance shall include sign language interpreters, assisted listening devices, signing, foreign language interpreters and accessible telephone.  Public meetings including grant review panels will be available virtually.  The Council shall make its grant programs and resource information accessible to all persons through development of alternative formats.
