Learn More & Register

Michigan’s outdoor recreation industry shines in the Upper Peninsula duing Michigan Ice Fest — an adventure lovers’ paradise that attracts outdoor enthusiasts and first-time explorers.

Whether you’re brand new to climbing, or have been coming to Munising for more than 30 years, you’re part of something bigger at Ice Fest. With classes taught by the best ice climbers in the world, evening presentations to inspire you in your next adventure, and the unequaled beauty of the ice in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, this is an event for everyone.

Take classes, venture out on guided climbs, hear speakers share their adventures and lessons learned. The festival provides an opportunity to try a sport that traditionally has a high barrier to entry by providing the gear and high-quality instruction from professional athletes. All the equipment needed for ice climbing is made available at the event, including helmets, clothing, specialized boots, crampons and ice axes.
