CURRENT FOCUS

Amanda Pontes serves as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Lear Corporation, where she oversees all legal matters for the company, including corporate governance, public reporting, Board of Directors matters, ethics and compliance, and operational legal issues. She currently serves on the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) Executive Committee and as the chair of the MEDC’s Strategic Planning subcommittee.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Since joining Lear in 2016, she has held several senior leadership roles across the organization, including Global Divisional Counsel for both the E-Systems and Seating businesses, Chief Compliance Officer, and Deputy General Counsel for Corporate Governance.

Prior to joining Lear, Amanda was a partner at Bodman PLC in Detroit, where she focused on business law, mergers and acquisitions, and automotive industry matters.

EDUCATION/PERSONAL

Amanda graduated summa cum laude from Wayne State University Law School and earned her undergraduate degree in economics and English literature from the University of Michigan.
