Khalil Rahal is an assistant county executive and the Executive Director for Economic Development for Wayne County, MI. Direct duties include economic development, transit, and special projects.
Khalil previously served as the ombudsman and FOIA Coordinator for Wayne County from January 2015 to October 2015. He was also the special administrator in charge of ethics violations and completed work involving revenue sharing, taxes, Third Circuit Court negotiations, and juvenile programs. From 2010 to 2015, Khalil also served as the Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office and was assigned to SVU, special unit of prosecutors experienced and dedicated to solving and trying sex crimes.
Khalil hold a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Grand Valley State University and is a graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
