LANSING – The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is hosting a Community Development Workshop on October 27 in Brighton.
“This workshop is a golden opportunity for economic developers and local officials to learn about all the tools available to facilitate strong communities,” said MEDC President and CEO Michael A. Finney. “Putting Michigan’s economic and community development tools to work can help make communities more attractive to residents, visitors, employers and employees.”
The Community Development Block Grant workshop registration is from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. The workshop runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the City Council Meeting Room of Brighton City Hall, located at 200 North First Street in Brighton.The cost to attend is $40, which includes lunch.
The workshop will focus on Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) grant administration, including federal laws and regulations. Attendees will learn about environmental review, Uniform Relocation Act, labor standards, record keeping requirements and more. First-time grantees or those looking to apply for a grant in the next two years are highly encouraged to attend.
