Michael Shore, MEDC
Michigan Economic Development Corporation President and CEO James C. Epolito today announced that Howard Edelson will join the MEDC as senior vice president of international business development and legislative affairs.Edelson brings to the MEDC years of corporate, legislative and management experience.
In addition to leading MEDC government relations, Edelson also will head its international business development team, a function previously directed by Sandy Ring who left last month to join the Honigman, Miller law firm.
Prior to his service with Consumers Energy, he was chief of staff to U.S. Representative Bob Carr (D-Mich), who was chairman of the Transportation Appropriations Committee.
Earlier in his career, Edelson worked in the private sector in the real estate and retail industries as vice president for business development for Vanguard Management Corporation and general manager of Castle Drugstore chain, both located in Chicago.
Edelson, a native of Chicago, earned his B.S. Degree from Michigan State University in 1982 and resides in Ann Arbor.
