Site Showcases Economic Development Services, Travel Information
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) has recently launched the redesigned economic development and travel Web site.
The new design of michigan.org is user-friendly and audience-segmented. It will make it easier for tourists to plan a vacation and easier for businesses to understand the advantages of locating in Michigan. It features easy navigational tools, rich-data content and information tailored to specific industries.
"The redesign integrates business services, community development and travel into one site," said George Zimmermann, senior vice president of MEDC Travel Michigan and Business Marketing. "It showcases and enhances the 'hidden treasures' that were already on the site."
"Our goal was to ensure that the information potential businesses and travelers want most is current and easy to find," said Zimmermann. "Our new and improved Web site markets Michigan as the nation's top state to live, work and play."
The MEDC's Web site was recently named the best economic development site in the nation by AngelouEconomics, and was the only site to score more than 90 points on a 100 point scale based on content, structure, interactivity and graphics.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation, a partnership between the state and local communities, promotes smart economic growth by developing strategies and providing services to create and retain good jobs and a high quality of life.
