Michael Shore, MEDC
Retired General to Help Michigan Companies Win Federal Contracts
Granholm noted that homeland security/defense is one of the high-tech, high-growth sectors specifically targeted by the 21st Century Jobs Fund initiative.
In his new role, General Lott will work with the MEDC to develop and implement a business plan for the new operating center and establish an aggressive outreach program that matches Michigan businesses with contracting opportunities.
General Lott retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in 2006 after 34 years of service, culminating with his assignment as the Deputy Commanding General, Marine Corps Combat Development Command. Prior to his assignment at the Pentagon, General Lott commanded the Marine Corps Logistics Command, which is responsible for world-wide supply chain management including multi-commodity maintenance depot operations and logistics IT program development.
Upon his retirement from the Marine Corps, General Lott formed TrueNorth Logistics LLC, a logistics consulting firm specializing in industrial logistics and federal government purchasing.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation, a partnership between the state and local communities, promotes smart economic growth by developing strategies and providing services to create and retain good jobs and a high quality of life.
