Connects educators, families and others with high quality educational experiences throughout Michigan

LANSING – Michigan schools seeking to expand arts and cultural experiences for their students can find arts-related field trip opportunities through a new database offered by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA).

“The Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs believes field trips strengthen partnerships between schools and community arts and cultural organizations,” said MCACA Executive Director John Bracey. “This tool will not only allow teachers to locate previously unknown arts and cultural organizations offering rich, educational experiences, but will also help increase business and traffic for the participating organizations.”

The Michigan Field Trip database, available at http://www.michiganyoutharts.org will allow educators to find the learning experience that best suits their needs from the new statewide list of Arts and Cultural organizations.

The database currently has 80 organizations with 21 counties being represented. The database is designed to connect educators, families and others with high quality educational experiences throughout Michigan. Organizations with educational programming are welcome to submit their information in an online form on the site to help the database grow.

MCACA, part of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, serves to encourage, develop and facilitate an enriched environment of artistic, creative and cultural activity in Michigan.
