Tools for driving job creation and investment in the state

LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF) and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation have issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for ideas to help the MEDC market the state and build the Pure Michigan brand through web, media, public relations, promotional and marketing efforts.

“The MSF and the MEDC are committed to marketing Michigan and providing the tools and environment to drive job creation and investment, and we are looking to improve the ways we share the Michigan story to multiple audiences at home and around the world,” said MEDC President and CEO Mike Finney. “This comprehensive campaign will employ a full spectrum of communication vehicles and marketing approaches in order to achieve these goals.”

In January 2011, the MSF and the MEDC made the decision to consolidate all of its marketing and communication programs under the Pure Michigan brand. The Michigan Strategic Fund today approved an RFP to seeking contractors to assist in leveraging the Pure Michigan brand through a comprehensive integrated public relations and marketing program that reaches all of the MEDC’s targeted geographic, industry and audience markets. The RFP is also open to ideas related to potential online apps, gaming and other emerging marketing or communications technologies.

Interested parties can bid on all or any part of the proposal. The entire RFP can be viewed online at http://www.michiganbusiness.org/MCPRRFP

Electronic versions of technical and price proposals must be sent separately to the MSF via email to contracts&grants@michigan.org by Thursday, July 28, 2011, at 5:00 p.m. Proposals will not be accepted via U.S. mail or any other delivery method.

Prospective bidders may submit questions regarding the RFP via email by June 29, 2011, at 5:00 p.m. to contracts&grants@michigan.org. Please note: The MSF will not respond to questions that are not received by the above date and time. In addition, questions that are phoned, faxed or sent through regular mail will not be accepted.

Responses to all qualifying questions will be posted on the MEDC’s website, http://www.michiganbusiness.org on July 8, 2011 by close of business.
