Job Title and Level: Small Business Coordinator
City/County: Lansing/Ingham, Detroit/Wayne (Flexible/Hybrid)
Type of Employment: Full-Time
Pay Grade and Annual Salary: Level 4 pay grade starts at $74,800 annually. Additional consideration given based on knowledge and experience.
Brief Job Description:
This position serves as a project manager and administrative specialist for the Small Business Services and Solutions division. Serves as the liaison to the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) staff, constituents, stakeholders, clients, and the public to represent the Small Business unit while implementing sound judgement and maintaining strict confidentiality.
Accountable for cross-organizational coordination, project management, administrative and executive support. Provides tactical process management for the Small Business teams and comprehensive professional management and administrative support to the Senior Vice President of Small Business Services and Senior Vice President of Small Business Solutions.
This position may require some in-person work in both Lansing and Detroit. Occasional travel elsewhere throughout the state may also be required.

Minimum Education Required:
This position requires completion of a high school diploma or equivalent. A bachelor’s degree, with coursework in business management, finance, or similar organizational management is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum Experience Required:
This position requires a minimum of three to five years of related experience in working in a professional or executive office setting providing administrative and clerical responsibilities including experience and proficiency with technical writing, budget management, event coordination and project management and cross-organizational communications. Exposure to entrepreneurship is preferred, such as experience as an entrepreneur, working with small business owners or working with/as small business resource providers.
