The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is hiring for the following state position.

Pay Grade and Annual Salary: $97,024.00 - $141,489.00 Annually

This position will serve as an assistant to the President of the MSF/CEO of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). This position will advise and assist the CEO in areas of policy and procedure development as well as provide legal guidance for the Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF) and serve as the MSF Fund Manager. This position participates in the formulation and implementation of policies and programs critical to the mission of the Michigan Strategic Fund and MEDC.

In addition, this position will provide direction, leadership and guidance for critical, strategic projects and programs of the agency and will advise MSF President and MSF Board of policy issues and program accomplishments.

This position is filled through a limited-term Senior Executive Service agreement. Salary commensurate with candidate qualifications.

Supervisor: Quentin Messer, Chief Executive Officer

Minimum Education Required:

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Minimum Experience Required:

Two years of professional, P11-level experience or one year of professional 12-level experience as a senior-level worker, a manager, or a staff/program specialist (includes administrative assistant) or equivalent.

Preference would be a minimum of five to seven years related experience and/or training, in practicing law in the public and/or private sector; experience writing contracts, reviewing loan documentation and knowledge of the legislative process, real estate law and laws affecting public bodies. Four years of experience practicing law in a comparable environment preferred.
