The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is hiring for the following corporate position.
Job Title and Level: Policy and Research Specialist
City/County: Lansing/Ingham (Temporarily Remote)
Type of Employment: Full-Time
Pay Grade and Annual Salary: Grade 4; Pay grade 4 begins at $68,800 annually. Additional compensation consideration given based on relevant skills, education and experience.

The Policy and Research Specialist is responsible for providing research expertise, analysis and development of complex legislative and policy proposals and issues as they relate to MEDC programs and initiatives. The individual will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including internal units, state legislators, local economic development organizations, etc., to research, analyze, and develop policies relative to Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) on the state and federal levels to support creation of legislation and programs to support MEDC’s strategic economic and community development efforts.

Minimum Education Required:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economic Development, Political Science, Public Administration, Public Policy, Market Research, Finance, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum Experience Required:
This position requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years of related experience or training in economic development, legislative analysis, legislative research, government relations, public policy, project management, data collection, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, research reporting or finance or accounting. Experience with drafting bill agreements and/or grant writing is preferred.
