Brief Job Description:
Responsibilities of the Grants Manager include serving as a liaison and advisor to the SHPO Division Director, MEDC procurement, MEDC Finance, other state agencies, and local partners, and contracted partners to ensure NHPA programmatic compliance. This position is the subject matter expert that independently researches, collects and interprets data, develops project concepts, provides analyses and recommendations to the Authority, Division Director and divisional staff regarding potential projects to be funded by the HPF, CLG, MLAP, and other grant programs. This position is responsible for administering, monitoring, and reporting grants and contracts for services funded by the HPF, Authority, State of Michigan, and other funding sources.
This position is also responsible for serving as the budget specialist and advisor to the SHPO Division Director, coordinating with Executive, and division staff for all SHPO accounting activities and budget management. The duties include reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting accounting entries for correct payment coding, preparing financial statements, preparing various year-end close entries and responding to audit requests. Activities include, but are not limited to: research, review, analyze, budget development, budget management, and process payables to vendors and other state agencies.

Minimum Education Required:
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Minimum Experience Required:
Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
