  • MEDC’s Logistics & Supply Chain Offers Scholarships for Unique Supply Chain Management Program

Wayne State University's Supply Chain Management (SCM) Program and the Auto Industry Action Group (AIAG) are jointly offering a Vehicle Industry Purchasing and SCM Certificate Training Program for employees at OEM's, Tier 1/2/3 suppliers, Logistics 3PL companies, and trucking companies in the automotive/vehicle industry. A few scholarships are available for companies with limited training budgets.

This unique program is tailored to the automotive/vehicle industry and other companies with complex manufacturing processes. The program is in its second year and received high marks last year from the 31 participants, including personnel from 10 leading OEM and Tier 1 supplier and support companies. The program uses academic and industry speakers to provide a broad range of training on purchasing and SCM topics. The program includes 24 sessions over the course of a year and meets Thursdays, 3:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., at the AIAG headquarters, 26200 Lahser Road, in Southfield, just off the Lodge/Lahser intersection.

The program price is $3,795 for the year. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is encouraging any interested Tier 2 or Tier 3 auto suppliers with limited training budgets to participate by offering up to 5 scholarships that will cover half the cost of the course. Eligible companies include Michigan-based Tier 2 and Tier 3 auto suppliers with less than $50 million sales and fewer than 500 employees.
