The Michigan Economic Development Corporation today announced the approval of a $76,307 economic development infrastructure grant to the City of Escanaba, Delta County. The grant, funded by the Michigan Strategic Fund, will be used for storm sewer improvements and resurfacing of a street for the Andex Industries, Inc. Infrastructure Project. The project is expected to result in the creation of ten new, full-time jobs."By improving the quality of infrastructure, the City of Escanaba will have the resources it needs to accommodate Andex Industries, Inc., as well as benefit from the new jobs created by this project," said Doug Rothwell, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.Andex Industries, Inc. manufactures plastic and cardboard display packaging. Display packaging is used primarily to protect and display products commonly seen on the shelves of large and small retailers. The packaging material typically consists of a plastic-formed package, known as blister or clamshell. The company also prints the corresponding backer or insert card.The Michigan Economic Development Corporation works in partnership with local communities and Michigan businesses to retain and expand job opportunities and improve Michigan's overall business climate.
