Redevelopment Renaissance Zones Fuel Growth in Jackson, Grand Rapids
Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced that Redevelopment Renaissance Zones have been approved for industrial sites owned by Eaton Corporation in Jackson and MBtech Autodie in Grand Rapids. The tax-free designations will assist the companies in revitalizing existing manufacturing facilities.
The projects announced today:
- The six-year designation of the RRZ in Grand Rapids will assist MBtech Autodie
The program comprises 152 zones and sub-zones throughout the state and is administered by the MEDC. Specialized Renaissance Zones have been created to meet particular needs. In addition to RRZs, they include agricultural processing, alternative energy, forest processing and tool and die recovery zones.
