Hotel Renovation Attracts $3.4 Million Investment, Creates 35 New Jobs
"Converting hazardous, difficult-to-develop properties into sources of new jobs in the heart of our unique downtowns is exactly what the Michigan's brownfield program was designed to do, " MEDC President and CEO Don Jakeway said.
In her 2005 State of the State address, Granholm emphasized the importance of making Michigan a global economic powerhouse in the 21st century. Since January 2005 the Governor and the MEDC have announced the creation or retention of more than 41,695 jobs as a result of targeted assistance provided by the MEDC.
