Michigan Economic Development Corporation Welcomes Ritz-Craft Corporation to Jonesville

Company Will Create 150 New Jobs The Michigan Economic Development Corporation today welcomed Ritz-Craft Corporation to the city of Jonesville, Hillsdale County. The company, a manufacturer of modular components for the housing industry, is making a seven million dollar investment in the project and anticipates employing 150 workers at this site. "This is great news for the city of Jonesville," said Doug Rothwell, president and CEO Michigan Economic Development Corporation. "Ritz-Craft Corporation and the new jobs will be a welcome addition to the community." The Michigan Economic Development Corporation also announced that an economic development job training grant worth $150,000 will be provided to help train the 150 new employees. This grant, funded through the corporation's Economic Development Job Training program, will be conducted by a training provider chosen by the company. In addition, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation has approved a $1.5 million economic development infrastructure grant for Hillsdale County. The grant will be used to build a new road in the Jonesville Industrial Park, where the new facility will be located. "We are very excited that Ritz-Craft has chosen Hillsdale County for this new project," said Reb Turner, Hillsdale County Economic Development Corporation. "This further adds to the diversification of the industrial mix in the county." Ritz-Craft Corporation, founded in 1954 in Argos, Indiana, has three manufacturing facilities totaling over 400,000 square feet and nearly 500 employees. The company produces and ships products to 21 different states and has over 400 active builders and dealers. Ritz-Craft also maintains corporate model centers in Lansing, Michigan; Raleigh, North Carolina; and Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation, formerly the Michigan Jobs Commission, works in partnership with local communities and Michigan businesses to retain and expand job opportunities and improve Michigan's overall business climate.
