Honored Former Legislator Brings Vast Experience
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) recently announced that former Isabella county state representative James McBryde has joined the staff as the vice president of Legislative Relations.
McBryde’s new duties include working with the legislature on economic development initiatives and acting as liaison to trade organizations.
“Jim will be a great addition to our executive team,” said Sabrina Keeley, MEDC’s acting CEO.“His experience will be invaluable to help move our economic development efforts forward and keep Michigan’s economy on the move.”
Before joining the MEDC, McBryde served on the Isabella County Commission from 1984 to 1990.He was elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in 1990 serving for eight years before retiring to term limits.McBryde most recently served the state as the administrative commissioner for the Michigan Liquor Control Commission.
“I am really pleased to be a part of this excellent organization,” said McBryde.“I hope to continue MEDC’s first class reputation by working with the Legislature to ensure economic issues are addressed to expand the job opportunities for the people of this great state.”
