The Michigan Economic Development Corporation named Jeff Kaczmarek as Senior Vice President of Business Services. Kaczmarek will oversee business finance and business support programs. Kaczmarek, a life-long Detroit area resident, has served as the director for Oakland County Community & Economic Development since 1996, and he has been with Oakland County for the past 28 years. He will begin working with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation on September 27, 1999."Jeff is one of the most experienced and well respected economic developers in Michigan," said Doug Rothwell, president and CEO of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. "We are fortunate that he has agreed to take this position. The knowledge he has from the local level, as well as his first-hand knowledge of our programs and services, makes him a valuable new member of our team."Kaczmarek will oversee business services including: the Community Development Block Grant program, the Michigan Economic Growth Authority, the Michigan Strategic Fund, site location and development services, ombudsman services, export services and the Industrial Development Revenue Bond program. "I look forward to working with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, and its board, to create a network of Smart Parks around the state, and to help support the implementation of a second round of Renaissance Zones with infrastructure," Kaczmarek said. "I'm excited about the opportunity to work, at the state-level, with Michigan's bold economic development programs." In addition to his experience at Oakland County Community & Economic Development, Kaczmarek is a member of the following organizations: Michigan Economic Developers Association (past president), American Economic Development Council, National Council for Urban Economic Development, International Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives and International Development Research Council.
