The Michigan Economic Development Corporation today announced the approval of a $50,000 economic development planning grant to Huron County. The grant will be used for a planning study to evaluate the possibiity of creating a new locally-owned cooperative venture which would operate the Michigan Sugar operations located in Sebewaing, Croswell, Caro and Carrollton. The project is expected to result in the creation of many new, full-time jobs and more than 1,000 jobs will be retained.ABy working together, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and Huron County are making a commitment to further fuel Michigan’s booming economy," said Doug Rothwell, president and CEO of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. "This is excellent news for Huron County.
