More Than 330 Tech Centers Listed; Number Doubled Since 2002 Edition
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation today announced the 3rdMichigan Automotive Research & Development Facilities Directory, a comprehensive listing of more than 330 auto-related technical centers based in the state. The directory was released during the 2007 World Congress of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) now underway in Detroit.
st edition with 135 entries was published in 2002, scores of companies have expanded or invested in new Michigan-based engineering, design, research and development centers. In addition to major investments by DaimlerChrysler, Ford Motor and General Motors, international giants like Toyota, Hyundai and Nissan have also invested heavily in Michigan R&D centers.
