Two Developments to Spur $22 Million in Private Investment
Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced that the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) has offered assistance to help redevelop brownfield sites in the cities of Detroit and Portage . The two projects are expected to generate more than $22.3 million in private investment and create up to 125 new jobs.
Residential Detroit Inc. plans to continue redeveloping blighted property located at the corners of Sheridan and St. Paul near Belle Isle. The developer has already built 25 housing units in six buildings on the site known as the EnglishVillage .
