Matchmaking Initiative Will Promote Life Sciences Industry Growth by Creating Network of Researchers, Entrepreneurs and Service Providers
Governor Jennifer M. Granholm and Michigan Economic Development Corporation President and CEO James C. Epolito today announced that MichBio, the life sciences industry trade association, has been chosen to develop a network linking life science researchers and businesses with vendors of related products and services. The Life Sciences Pipeline mechanism is required as part of the 21st Century Jobs Fund initiative signed into law last November.
The state Administrative Board made the selection from a field of fourproposals competing for the designation.
"MichBio is excited to broaden its mission and scope to further expand the impact of Michigan's life sciences industry," Executive Director Stephen Rapundalo said. "The Life Sciences Pipeline program will coordinate partners across the state in the common goal of strengthening our competitivness and depth in commercialization."
