Regional Economic Development Organizations Sign on to Promote Economic Development
Michigan Economic Development Corporation President and CEO James C. Epolito today announced that the Dickinson Area Partnership in Dickinson County, the Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP), the Economic Development Corporation of Roscommon County and the Troy Chamber of Commerce have signed official cooperation agreements with the MEDC. The MEDC now has signed partnerships with 129 economic development organizations and communities across the state, with the goal of encouraging collaboration to promote economic development and create jobs.
The MEDC was created in 1999 by an Interlocal Agreement executed by local economic development corporations created under Public Act 338 of 1974.
Other economic development agencies that also work very closely in partnership with the MEDC include local agencies, utilities and business organizations that are not incorporated under Public Act 338.
