Joins 18 Other U.P. Organizations Promoting Economic Development
Michigan Economic Development Corporation President and CEO James C. Epolito today announced that the city of Menominee has signed an official cooperation agreement with the MEDC. The MEDC now has signed partnerships with 135 economic development organizations and communities across the state including 18 in the Upper Peninsula. The goal of the partnerships is to encourage collaboration, promote economic development and create jobs.
The MEDC was created in 1999 by an Interlocal Agreement executed by local economic development corporations created under Public Act 338 of 1974.
Other economic development agencies that also work very closely in partnership with the MEDC include local agencies, utilities, and business organizations that are not incorporated under Public Act 338.
