Michigan Economic Development Corporation President and CEO James C. Epolito today announced that Michigan Gas Utilities (MGU) in Monroe and the Monitor Charter Township Downtown Development Authority in Bay City have recently signed official cooperation agreements with the MEDC. The MEDC now has signed partnerships with 126 economic development organizations, communities and businesses across the state, with the goal of encouraging collaboration to promote economic development and create jobs.
The MEDC was created in 1999 by an Interlocal Agreement executed by local economic development corporations created under Public Act 338 of 1974.
Other economic development agencies that also work very closely in partnership with the MEDC include local agencies, utilities, and business organizations that are not incorporated under Public Act 338.
