Four Educational Sessions to be Held Across the State
Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced that the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) will co-host four educational sessions on the brownfield redevelopment program. The one-day workshops in Marquette, Kalamazoo, Cadillac and Taylor are designed to target local brownfield redevelopment authorities, economic development staff and property developers.
DEQ will present information on changes to the brownfield grant and loan program, recent legislative actions and the creation of a new revolving loan program.
The MEDC will present information on the recent administrative changes in the brownfield Single Business Tax (SBT) credit program, tax increment financing, brownfield redevelopment authority successes and other programs that support the reuse of Michigan brownfield properties.
Workshops will be held in the following locations:
- January 27 - Northern MichiganUniversity, Marquette
- January 29 - Radisson Plaza Hotel, Kalamazoo
- February 3 - McGuires Resort, Cadillac
- February 5 - Lakes of Taylor Golf Course, Taylor
