$1.9 Million Building to Occupy Former Gas Station Site
Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced that Chemical Bank will build a new bank in the city of Niles on the site of two former automobile service stations with the help of a $190,000 brownfield tax credit. The project in the Berrien County community is receiving assistance provided by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and is expected to result in 12 new jobs for the community.
The new 7,300-square-foot facility and associated parking at 407 East Main is expected to include $1.9 million in private investment. Local tax capture of $150,000 will support the project.
