Compliance Specialist (Community Development Programs)

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is conducting an internal/external recruitment process to fill the following corporate vacancy:

Job Title and Level: Compliance Specialist (Community Development Programs)

City/County: Lansing/Ingham County

Type of Employment: Full-Time

Pay Grade and Annual Salary: Grade 3;Pay grade begins at $52,200 annually. Additional compensation consideration given based on relevant skills, education and experience.

Brief Job Description: This specialist assists with the compliance activities related to various current programs administered by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and the Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF) including the Michigan Community Revitalization Program (MCRP), the Renaissance Zone program, the transformational brownfield program, and the Brownfield tax credit program. Incumbent will monitor and coordinate internal compliance processes for assigned programs; create and manage reports using Salesforce; serve as a contact to awardees, as well as provide internal and external customer support.

Supervisor: Christin Armstrong, Associate General Counsel & VP, Compliance & Contract Services

Minimum Education Required: This position requires a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in business administration or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum Experience Required: This position requires a minimum of two to four years of related experience in processing data and interpreting legislative or other legalistic requirements, preferably in economic development and/or government administration; or experience administering similar economic development grant programs; and/or experience in grant processing, project underwriting and knowledge of contracts and property law; and experience with word processing, spreadsheet, database, and calendaring software. Salesforce experience preferred.
