    • Virtual Gaming Summit

      August 26, 2015

      Location: MI

      The event was conducted in a web-conference platform. Each session included five presentations followed by a panel discussion and Q&A session. First, each of the three casinos gave a brief introduction to their operations. Next, Pure Michigan Business Connect gave a presentation on the soon-to-be-launched business-to-business portal specifically designed to connect Michigan-based suppliers directly to the procurement needs of the casinos. Finally, the MGCB was on hand to answer questions about becoming licensed to be a supplier to the gaming industry.

    • Ford Power Hour

      July 15, 2015

      Location: Dearborn, MI

      The Ford Motor Company, in partnership with PMBC, hosted an invitation-only Power Hour lunch on July 15th at The Henry in Dearborn, MI. This event specifically focused on identifying new and diverse Construction Contractors and Rack Suppliers and connecting them with Ford's Procurement team through a "Shark Tank" - inspired presentation format.

    • Paslin Vendor Day

      June 18, 2015

      Location: Warren, MI

      Pure Michigan Business Connect, in partnership with the Paslin Company, hosted an invitation-only Vendor Day on June 18th at the Ukrainian Cultural Center and at their production facilities in Warren, MI. The commodities in the application represented more than $15 million of opportunity available for qualified Michigan companies. This day featured a very brief morning session followed by 1:1 meetings with purchasing managers for each commodity group and the option to attend a facility tour to learn more about Paslin.

    • 2015 Pure Michigan Gaming Summit

      April 30, 2015

      Location: Detroit, MI

      PMBC Partners with Greektown Casino-Hotel, MotorCity Casino-Hotel, and MGM Grand Hotel & Casino to host the first Gaming Summit aimed at filling procurement gaps with Michigan Suppliers. The invitation-only event held at Ford Field in Detroit brought more than 230 potential Michigan suppliers together to connect with buying teams from the three casinos in an effort to spur economic and job growth in the state. This event, taking place at Ford Field on April 30th, was the first of what will become multiple matchmaking initiatives. Buyers participating at the event are Greektown Casino-Hotel, MotorCity Casino-Hotel, and MGM Grand Hotel & Casino.  With over 229 companies applying to attend the event, 94 individual meetings were scheduled to facilitate contracts between suppliers and buyers.

    • 2015 Pure Michigan Consumers Energy Summit

      Location: Grand Rapids, MI

      On April 16th, 2015, PMBC partnered with Consumers Energy to host a Pay It Forward matchmaking summit featuring 7 of their Prime Contractors in Grand Rapids, MI at the L.V Eberhard Center. The event had nearly 215 companies apply resulting in 141 scheduled meetings with suppliers and buyers. Buyers participating included Barton Malow Company, Consumers Energy, CSM Group, Ideal Group, Monarch Welding & Engineering, Inc., Newkirk Electric Associates, Inc., Northern Boiler Mechanical Contractors and Pumford Construction, Incorporated.

    • 2015 Quicken Loans Summit

      April 14, 2015

      Location: Detroit, MI

      Pure Michigan Business Connect joined forces with Quicken Loans today for an invitation-only supplier summit at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit. The event brought nearly 250 Michigan companies together with buying teams from Quicken Loans in an effort to spur economic and job growth in the state.  The event had over 300 companies apply that resulted in 90 scheduled meetings with buyers and suppliers. Hosted by the MEDC’s Pure Michigan Business Connect program and the Detroit Regional Chamber, the Quicken Loans Matchmaking Summit gave Michigan companies procurement opportunities with 10 Quicken business units. Quicken provided 34 diverse and wide-ranging procurement needs for which they are committed to finding and working with qualified Michigan suppliers. Examples of commodities sought include hardware and software support, promotional marketing items, staffing services, print materials, banners and displays, event décor and swag, and more.

    • 2015 Pure Michigan Flagstar Vendor Innovation Summit

      Location: Troy, MI

      PMBC partnered with Flagstar Bank to host the first of a Vendor Innovation Series at their headquarters in Troy, MI on March 23rd. 8 companies were selected to present in front of the CIO, Engineers and other IT executives to showcase their Innovative Technology solutions through demonstrations. Each company was granted 45 minutes total for the presentation. Over 120 companies applied resulting in 8 individual scheduled meetings between suppliers and buyers. 

    • 2015 Pure Michigan Agriculture Summit

      March 19, 2015

      Location: Grand Rapids, MI

      On March 19th, 2015, PMBC partnered with Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and The Right Place, Inc. to host 21 buyers as part of the second annual Pure Michigan Agriculture Summit held at the DeVos Place Convention Center in Grand Rapids, MI. The event combined grocers and growers in the largest Agriculture Matchmaking initiative in Michigan. As one of the largest agriculture markets in the country, Michigan has continued to gain acclaim for the quality and quantity of its agricultural resources. The goal of the Summit was to establish even more connections to help drive investment in Michigan suppliers supporting the industry. Some of the buyers participating are Associated Food and Petroleum Dealers, Beaumont Hospital, Busch’s Fresh Food, Market, Cherry Capital Foods, Fortune Fish Company, Garden Fresh Salsa, Gordon Food Service, Heeren Brothers, Kroger, Lipari Foods, Marquette Food Cooperative, Meijer, Metro Hospital, Michigan International Speedway, Pearson Foods, Plumbs, Inc., Spartan Nash, University Of Michigan, WalMart West Michigan Farm Link, and Whole Foods. A total of 285 companies applied to participate in the summit and 336 individual meetings were scheduled between buyers and suppliers.

    • 2014 BLM Summit

      Location: Lansing, MI

      Business Leaders for Michigan (BLM) and MEDC’s Pure Michigan Business Connect office partnered on an invitation-only supplier summit held on October 8 at the Lansing Center. The goal of the event was to help businesses and universities identify Michigan-based suppliers to meet their procurement needs. The event hosted over 39 buyers as part of the BLM Matchmaking Summit held at the Lansing Center in Lansing, MI. The buyers included Absopure, Amway, Barton Malow, BCBSM, Champion Foods, Comerica Bank, Consumers Energy, Detroit Manufacturing, Detroit Tigers, Domino's, DTE Energy, Fifth Third Bank, First Merit Bank, Flagstar Bank, Ford Motor Company, Google, Gordon Food Service,Haworth, Herman Miller, Inc., Huntington, La-Z-Boy, Masco, McKinley, Inc., Meijer, Michigan State University, MotorCity Casino-Hotel, MSX International, Olympia Development, Olympia Entertainment, Perrigo Company, PNC Bank, Roush, Rush Trucking, Steelcase, Inc., The Bartech Group, University of Michigan, Walbridge, Wayne State University. With 1125 companies applying to the summit, it resulted in over 600 scheduled meetings between suppliers and buyers to facilitate contract opportunities.

    • 2014 Pure Michigan Meijer Summit

      Location: Detroit, MI

      Meijer works with hundreds of service providers on a regular basis to address needs at both the corporate and store levels. In an effort to gain a better understanding of Michigan-based service providers that have the potential to meet those needs, the Meijer Procurement Team met with a group of Michigan businesses at the recent 2014 Meijer Matchmaking Summit in Detroit. More than 120 Michigan companies that specialize in a variety of services – ranging from engineering and graphic design to equipment repair and advertising translation – attended the summit. This resulted in over 115 scheduled meetings between buyers and suppliers for over 27 unique procurement needs.
